Fishing in Northern New Mexico?

Planning on fishing this weekend, don’t be surprised if you see a New Mexico Game Warden checking for a valid fishing license this Easter weekend.  March 31, 2010 has finally passed and April 1, 2010 is about to arrive.  Another year has set upon the New Mexico Game and Fish Department and that means you’ll need to purchase a valid fishing license for the 2010 fishing season.  Capulin Creek, Chama River, Pecos River, Rio De Los Pinos, Sargent Wildlife Management Area and Willow Creek are just a few of the better Northern New Mexico rivers to fish, while Abiquiu, El Vado, Fenton, Heron and Santa Cruz are the more popular Northern  New Mexico Lakes to fish.  For your convenience the Department of Game and Fish posts a weekly fishing and stocking report of all bodies of water within the state.  This can be very helpful if you’re unfamiliar with the area or just want to know where the fishing hot spots are.
